Past – Our eLearning Courses Until 2007

desertificationDesertification is the degradation of land in arid, semi-arid, and dry sub-humid areas. It is largely a result of climatic variations and unsustainable land use practices, such as overgrazing, over-cultivation, and poor irrigation. Desertification contributes to poverty, famine, and the deterioration of natural resources. Over 250 million people are directly affected by desertification.

With its partners, Earth Council e-Learning is launching a program on desertification to coincide with the International Year of the Deserts and Desertification.
